Success Story - Angel ...When Angel's mother sought out services for her 5 year old son she was somewhat guarded; however, she knew she and her family needed an intervention. As a single mother with 3 children, Angel's mom was overwhelmed and weighted down with stress, anxiety and fear about the future. She was worried about her son who exhibited behaviors such as banging his head against the wall, breaking his toys, unable to sit still or concentrate in school, lack of communication skills, rude and defiant at home. Angel received 12 months of one-on-one and family interventions. He learned how to communicate his needs, frustrations and feelings, how to deal with his anger and how to demonstrate his love for his family and be loved in return. Angel's mom learned how to appropriately respond to her son's needs and how to implement defined boundaries and consequences for his poor behavior while affirming his strengths and good behaviors.
