LIFE-LINE RESOURCES is not the typical social work or mental health agency.  Birthed out of the desire to not only help individuals, but to transform their community, Vince Kelly, Lance Connelly and Terry Robinson found some creative solutions and put them to action.  On November 11, 2006 Life-Line Resources opened its doors on the south side of Des Moines with their motto “Strengthening individuals, one person, family and community at a time.”  Life-line Resources believes that transformation of individuals and families is often triggered by changes within the immediate environment.  By reducing environmental and external stressors, many mental health symptoms can be alleviated.  Life-line Resources offers services that strengthen families in many of their tangible and day-to-day struggles – working toward building them up in their place of need in order to create a lasting change.  In addition to offering a wide range of mental health and counseling services, Life-line Resources also offers supports such as a food pantry, a clothing closet and one-on-one assistance to find legal, housing and medical resources. In 2008 Life-Line Resources launched Life-Line Youth Foundation, a non-profit organization boasting a gymnasium, a USA registered boxing team, a wrestling team and weekly group activities in music production, dance, poetry, karate and more.

Just a few years after its inception, Life-Line Resources has grown to over 18 locations throughout the state of Iowa. They contribute their success to their deliberate efforts to provide an atmosphere of confidence and trust between clients and workers.  While being sensitive to demographic concerns such as race, culture and language, Life-line employees are trained to engage their clients with boldness and compassion. 

Life-Line Resources not only cares about the well-being of their clients, but the growth and success of their employees.  All efforts are made to strengthen each employee personally and professionally.  Vince, Lance and Terry believe these are some of the reasons Life-Line Resources has been successful in providing a much-needed strength to many areas of weakness in the field of social work.
